Chyenna is making her way in a new town by opening the Stage Coach Inn while raising her daughter alone after divorce. She hopes that the rejuvenation of the inn will help the town of Prairie Valley. Blair is working his ranch alongside his family while raising his daughter after the death of his wife. He feels that Chyenna doesn't need to change their town, but that it needs to stays the same. This argument leads them to clash early on, but soon they can't fight the attraction they both feel. Though many arguments come about, they soon find love in each other.

This book was a cute little romance. Both Chyenna and Blair have painful pasts, but together they fight against and soon for each other. The love they build is strong and the attraction between them is undeniable.

This book was a very well written. It was a quick and easy read that was easy to get wrapped up in and YES, easy to fall in love with too. It had romance, feuds, pain, love, friendship, and unity. It was all around a great book start to finish.

5 Star Review on Readers'Favorite

Love on a High Wire, published by BWL Publishing, Inc. http://bwlpublishing.ca/bookswelove.net

Reviewed by  for Readers' Favorite

Love on a High Wire is a romance novella written by Sydell Voeller. Seventeen-year-old Marcie Reynolds is a Veterinary Assistant living in Lahoma, Washington. After accompanying veterinarian Dr Hanslowe to the local circus where a performing horse, Bombay, has been injured, Marcie notices a very handsome teenager, Ivan Sebarian, in attendance, helping his father to stem the flow of blood until help arrived. After patching up the injured horse, Marcie looks around and notices that Ivan had gone. At the news that a blaze had broken out at the circus, Marcie returns and sees three horses fleeing in a panic. Both Ivan and Marcie catch and return the horses to safety, resulting in her mother’s scorn at her being late home and hanging around with circus types. Not happy with Marcie’s dreams of working with animals, her mother constantly tries to bully her into applying to the same music school as her sister, Jan, which Marcie refuses to do. Before the circus is due to leave town, Marcie and Ivan go on a date, where he agrees to escort her to the school dance. Little does Marcie know that the school dance is about to change her life forever.

As a former Veterinary Technician, I was impressed by the detail given by Sydell Voeller when writing about the various different types of surgeries and emergencies which took place, both at the clinic and in the field. The instant attraction between Ivan and Marcie was clearly evident, and their love of animals was a bonding magnetic force between them. Marcie’s mother’s constant parental pressure, trying to force her daughter into an unwanted career, steering Marcie away from her dreams while stereotyping people who work in the circus, was rather frustrating. Almost all of the characters in Love on a High Wire were fascinating and likeable. I was able to see the story through Marcie’s eyes and the unexpected ending left me with a smile. Love on a High Wire not only teaches you to follow your life’s dreams, but also to follow your heart. I recommend this book to young adults as well as those who are young at heart.

4 Star Review at Tome Tender by Dianne Biilou

4 Star review remarks from Dianne Biilyo at Tome Tender: Chyenna is a treasure, the kind of person you wish you had as a friend and neighbor. Blair, on the other hand, was difficult to understand; with his built-in chip on his shoulder that clearly were unresolved issues he carried. Ms. Voeller has set a beautiful stage with starlit nights, endless open spaces and the raw beauty of lands relatively untouched by humanity and progress. With two adorable young girls, wonderful supporting characters and a love that definitely was not at first sight, this light and fun read is a great escape for a few hours!

My rating:

It was a huge leap of faith when Chyenna and her daughter moved from bustling Portland to a sleepy little town to open an upscale eatery in an historic inn. Too bad not everyone was saw a need for change in the stagnant, but peaceful area. One of those dissenters was cattle rancher, Blair Westerman, a widowed father who blames “big cities” for the death of his wife. His small-minded and stubborn opinion rankles Chyenna, a city girl through and through trying to embrace the beauty of living far from the city lights. No matter how hard she seemed to try to learn the ways of the woods, so to speak, she had the handsome cowboy as her biggest doomsayer who seemed to love to watch her failures.

So why is it that they can’t seem to steer clear of each other? What is the pull? Is it possible that their two daughters are more mature and see more than they do? A plan is hatched and lives are changed…but will it be for the better?

Sydell Voeller’s Star Light, Star Bright is a clean romance with no over-the-top steam-inducing scenes, but the subtle romantic moments are the types that make a heart flutter just a little! Chyenna is a treasure, the kind of person you wish you had as a friend and neighbor. Blair, on the other hand, was difficult to understand; with his built-in chip on his shoulder that clearly were unresolved issues he carried. Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I'm celebrating the re-release of one of my personal favorite romance novels, STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT. Today it's hot off the Kindle and Books We Love, Ltd. presses! This romance story wasn't planned to coincide with Valentine's Day, necessarily, but I'm overjoyed that it did. You may have seen the book previously in hard cover and a bit later in trade paperback, but this Kindle edition is as current as they come.

So sit back in your favorite chair by the fireplace (it's still winter after all in some parts of the country), sip your favorite beverage, and enjoy this starry night novel. I was inspired to write this story after attending several Rose City Star Parties in Central Oregon enjoying the wonders of the universe. Take it from this amateur astronomer, the night sky with its myriad treasures can put even the most cynical skeptic in a  romantic mood.
